Province to gather feedback on royalty recommendations:
Thank you to everyone who has already responded to the Royalty Review. I appreciate receiving your input on an issue that is so vital to the future prosperity and quality of life of our province. As you know, Premier Stelmach initiated a review of Alberta’s royalty system, and the panel’s report was immediately released to the public.

The Government is now carefully and thoroughly considering the panel’s recommendations, and we expect to issue a response in the near future. We must strike the right balance, ensuring that Albertans receive a fair share from their non-renewable resources, while at the same time maintaining a competitive fiscal system that will allow our economy to thrive. Thank you once again for taking the time to share your views. I will be sure to keep them in mind as I discuss this issue with my colleagues.
